Rogues in Performance

Company of Rogues provides performance opportunities through our two-week Performance Intensive Workshops and our Mainstage productions under the auspices of Rogues Theatre. These are two very distinct opportunities.

The Performance Intensive Workshop is a performance class with registration open to all students meeting the prerequisite. It is intended to give the student actor practical onstage experience.

Rogues Theatre’s Mainstage productions are cast through a rigorous audition process and serve to showcase the finest talent drawn from the Rogues Ensemble- comprised of actors from our current student body, alumni and faculty.

Performance Intensive

A Rogues’ classic- from the classroom to the stage! Through an intense two-week period, a group of dedicated actors undergo a professional rehearsal process that culminates in performing for a live audience. As demanding and challenging as it is rewarding, the Performance Intensive is designed to provide an experience of the rehearsal process and develop performance technique.   Script selection begins well in advance of performance dates, so please register early.

Instructor: Joe-Norman Shaw
Prerequisite: Essentials of Acting or Equivalent (Scene Study recommended)
Schedule: The Performance Intensives run yearly in July and December.

The company is dedicated to producing plays that explore the complexity of the contemporary human experience. Rogues Theatre was launched in April 2000; intended to act as a bridge between the ensemble work at Company of Rogues Actors’ Studio and the professional stage.

Rogues Theatre is committed to the development of emerging theatre artists of all disciplines through the production of exhilarating theatre selections from the best local, Canadian, and international repertoires.  However, like Rogues Studio, Rogues Theatre is inspired by a New York aesthetic in it’s repertoire of plays and authentic performance style.
