Nathan Pronyshyn


Nathan has worked professionally as an actor since 2003. In addition to freelancing as an actor, director and facilitator, Nathan served as the Artistic Producer of Y Stage at Vertigo Theatre for 10 years.

Directing credits include Calamity Town, n00b (Calgary, Saskatoon, Toronto) and The Stones (Vertigo Theatre); La Mexicaine de Perforation (Trepan); The Frozen Limit (TheareBOOM). Selected TV/Film: The Secret History of the Wild West, Wynonna Earp, Chokehold, Faultline, On the Edge of Destruction and Splinter Cell: Conviction (Video Game). Nathan also regularly voices spots for radio, TV and cinema. Awards: In 2018 Nathan received the Duval Lang Award for contribution to TYA in Calgary. He has also been nominated for a Critter Award: Best Actor; Betty Mitchell Awards for Best Actor in a Lead Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Best Director and Best Fight Direction. Nathan is currently doing his MFA at the U of C, where he has also taught as a sessional instructor. Up next: Nathan will be performing in Men Express Their Feelings with Downstage in February/March and is developing an immersive theatre exhibit called Rella’s Cambrian Dream.
